Best 5 Kaiju in Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher

Every Kaiju in Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher is governed by a set of six stats. These stats determine their viability in combat, as well as their effectiveness in accomplishing the tasks you give them. As you may expect, the best kaiju have exceptionally high stats in one or more departments. Some of these high-tier kaiju do need to be unlocked in a particular way, but we’ll tell you how to do that as well.

That said, here are the five Kaiju that, in our opinion, best exemplify the monster way:

  • Skull Gomora
  • Thunder Killer
  • Pedanium Zetton
  • Mocchi
  • Five King

Skull Gomora

A fusion of two of the classic head honchos of the Ultra franchise, Gomora and Red King. Skull Gomora is an absolute powerhouse, boasting Life and Power in the 2000s with Defense not far behind. This thing can take a beating and keep on kicking. It’s dumb as a sack of hammers and not especially fast, but the raw strength makes up for it. You can unlock Skull Gomora by clearing the Big 3 Inferno Cup tournament.

Thunder Killer

A fusion of a couple of sparksters from the Ultra franchise, Eleking and Ace Killer. This biomechanical beast packs an excellent array of high, yet balanced stats almost across the board. Almost all of its stats exceed 1500, with the lone exception being speed. All that metal had to go somewhere, I guess, but who needs to be fast when you can shoot lasers? You can unlock Thunder Killer by clearing the Big 3 Lightning Cup tournament.

Pedanium Zetton

What do you get when you combine the psychic might of Zetton with the advanced tech of King Joe? You get Pedanium Zetton, a sturdy combatant that can fight effectively with both its bare hands or beam attacks. The only downsides are its slightly low Skill, which means a low hit rate, and an extremely low Speed, which means it’s not going to be doing much dodging. King Joe never had the legs for acrobatics. You can unlock Pedanium Zetton by clearing the Big 3 Pedanium Cup tournament.

Mocchi

What a tick, this thing ain’t an Ultra Kaiju! It’s Mocchi, longtime mascot of the Monster Rancher series, here as a guest character. Odd inclusion, but this squishy guy is certainly no pushover. Mocchi boasts a nicely balanced swath of stats across the board, almost all of them being at least over 1000. The only exception is Power, but it’s still over 900, so it’s a minor gripe. You can unlock Mocchi by defeating Colt in the C Class IMA Exhibition Match.

Five King

The only fusion monster on this list that didn’t originate from Ultraman Geed, Five King is the sum of a whopping five different kaiju, all smushed together. While it doesn’t excel in any particular sector, its wide variety of genetics gives it balanced stats, with all of them over 1000. It’s a bit of a complicated process to unlock it, though:

  1. Reach Master Breeder Rank
  2. Raise a Golza, Melba, Gan-Q, Reicubas, and Super C.O.V. to S Class
  3. Clear the Catastrophe Cup invitational tournament.

To clarify, there are no objectively best kaiju in this game. With a little love and dedication, almost any kaiju can be a world champ. That said, you can’t deny the cool factor and high stats on these guys.
