The Premise of Somerville

The premise of Somerville is of a man searching for his wife and son after been split apart in the climax of an alien invasion. Search the city for the other half of your family, accompanied by your loyal companion. Traverse the forest, enter the heart of the city, brave the unknown, untouched cave system and find your family before it is too late. As the world around you comes to a standstill, with humanity on the brink of collapse and hostile alien lifeforms watching your every move. Will you find your family? Can you make it out of Somerville? Uncover the mystery of this invasion. But what is the game length of Somerville?

Somerville Game Length

Somerville has an average run time of 4 hours. Although this game is on the shorter side, it is still a good Sci-Fi Adventure game. With easy to grasp gameplay mechanics, a strong narrative to pull you in and no hand holding. Figure out where to go and how to solve the puzzles. The game offers unique character abilities that adds interest to the narrative of Somerville. Whilst the focus of the game is on our quest to find our family, the Sci-Fi aspects of the game make this a more memorable and complex experience.

The length of the game can be extended by focusing on unlocking all Achievements and Endings that Somerville has to offer.

For some players the base game might be beaten quicker, depending on how quickly you can solve the puzzles. Yes, the game is short, but if it was any longer you might be asking for a faster arrival to the conclusion. The climax of Somerville will reel you in and leave you with questions and various interpretations. Because of this, Somerville is a great debut game by Jumpship and is definitely worth trying out.

Somerville is available on Steam and Xbox Pass. A final and important note is that Somerville does not support mouse and keyboard, therefore you need a controller in order to play this game.
