What is the Hydro Turret in Slime Rancher 2?

The Hydro Turret is exactly what it says it is, a turret that launches water at targets. And its only target is the monstrous Tarr.

If any Tarr strays into its line-of-sight, the Hydro Turret will shoot a blob of water at it after taking aim. The water will then proceed to destroy any Tarr that got hit by the impact. The fire rate is decent but its range is only moderate. However, it makes a fantastic Tarr elimination device due to its 360 degree angle and horizontal scoping capabilities.

Without needing to be recharged, the hydro turret can simply be left alone and it will deal with any Tarr threat immediately.

Best places to put the Hydro Turret

Once crafted, the hydro turret can be placed and picked back up again. The best place to put one or two (or three!) would be on your ranch near slimes that are highly irritable. This will ensure no Tarr breakouts happen whilst you’re away.

You can also simply keep one on your person in case a Tarr breakout occurs whilst on your travels, to help annihilate the threat before they eat all the slimes. Alternatively, you can place them in Tarr hotpots, to preserve them whilst you are away.
