How to Find Buzz Wax in Slime Rancher 2

In Slime Rancher 2, you aren’t the only busy bee around. Whilst you are running around popping gordos and taking care of your slimes, bees in their bee hives in the Starlight Strand are producing buzz wax. So much so that it spills over and out of their hive! If you are serious about Slime Science, you will want to grab some of this buzz wax for your gadgets. Here is how to find buzz wax in Slime Rancher 2.

How to get Buzz Wax in Slime Rancher 2

Buzz wax is quite an exclusive item. You must travel to the Starlight Strand to grab it. Rather uniquely, buzz wax is found dripping from bee hives that hang from trees.

You’ll have to keep a keen eye out to spot the round hives. Hives in Slime Rancher 2 are actually the source of two Slime Science resources, the buzz wax and also wild honey. Hives that produce buzz wax differ from their counterparts as they drip the matt, clay-grey liquid.

Once you find a hive with buzz wax, simply suck in with your vacpac (granted you have the resource harvester upgrade first!) and the buzz wax will shake free, producing 2 -3 items.

The buzz wax hives are littered all over Starlight Strand, except from the sandy shore strip down the right side. They are very hard to avoid, simply walking around and looking upwards will reveal many. You also find a lot of wild honey, but that’s okay as that is also a needed item!

Tips for farming buzz wax

Due to buzz wax being so common, you might find your vacpac filling up quickly. Make sure to set up a refinery lunk or two to lighten the burden on your vacpac.

Additionally, due to both hive types looking almost identical, it may be worth just harvesting both resources on every resource run instead of worrying about whether the hive contains buzz wax or wild honey.

Also, just be careful. You may have to fly over the slime sea or perilous drops when trying to reach the deposits higher up the cliff faces!
