But there is one slime that is just a little more unique to its counterparts. The ringtail slime. Where to find Ringtail Slimes in Slime Rancher 2
Ringtail slimes are as devious as they are wiggly. If you want to get your hands on one, you’ll have to travel to the Starlight Strand. But you can’t just find them anywhere, any time. You’ll have to travel by night.
This is because during the day, for a reason no one knows, the ringtail slimes become stone statues as soon as they are exposed to light. Ever seen the strange racoon-like statues everywhere? They aren’t just interactable decoration, but a ringtail slime exposed to UV light.
You can’t vac up the statues, only hold onto them as if largos.
The ringtail slimes are solitary creatures, so you’ll only really find them one at a time during the night in Starlight Strand. You’ll have to really look around, too.

How to care for Ringtail Slimes in Slime Rancher 2
Ringtail slimes aren’t like the other slimes. They can and will eat anything, like pink slimes. However, they also have an endless appetite, so if one escapes and finds its way to a garden or coop, it will be game over for all the food you had there.
The worst of all is that once full, they will continue to eat but will stop producing plorts, so you won’t even have that to make their feast worth your time. You’ll know when they’re full when their eyes turn all shifty and look side-to-side.
In captivity, due to them constantly eating, you’re going to want to be careful with auto-feeder speed or your manual portions to make sure that full ringtail slimes aren’t taking away from hungry ones.
