Show off your heroic styles.

Splatoon may be a multiplayer series first and foremost, but its single-player Hero Mode campaigns always deserve to be experienced. Not only is Splatoon 3’s Hero Mode full of clever gameplay and some major lore bombs, but if you beat it, you’ll unlock some nifty stuff for multiplayer. So, what do you get for completing Hero Mode in Splatoon 3?

What Do You Get for Completing Hero Mode in Splatoon 3?

If you can successfully defeat the final boss of Hero Mode, you’ll receive replica versions of your New Squidbeak Splatoon equipment to take into multiplayer mode with you, plus a couple of cool cosmetics to show off your accomplishments. To be specific, you’ll receive:

  • The full replica Hero set, including the Hero Mindset Replica, Hero Suit Replica, and Hero Boots Replica, each pre-fitted with full sub ability slots
  • The Hero Shot Replica Main Weapon, which isn’t as strong as the Hero Mode one, but still looks super cool
  • A sticker with the cast of Hero Mode for your lobby Locker
  • A Cuttlefish badge for your Splashtag

In addition to this stuff, completing Hero Mode also unlocks a special bonus level on the first island of Alterna, titled “After Alterna.” I won’t sugarcoat it, this level is an agonizingly difficult gauntlet of precise platforming, target shooting, and live-fire combat with very few checkpoints. Those who have played it have drawn comparisons to the infamous Inner 3 fight and Girl Power Station from Splatoon 2, just to give you a frame of reference.

If you can successfully complete After Alterna, you’ll receive a few extra goodies, including:

  • The final section of the Alterna Log
  • Two title components for your Splashtag
  • The Teddy Band, a headgear piece with full sub ability slots

If you need a reason to play through Hero Mode, well, I’d say the experience is worth it in itself. But if you need an additional reason, this gear certainly isn’t a bad incentive. That Teddy Band in particular should be worn as a badge of honor for completing an absolutely brutal stage.
