Minecraft is an open-world game that gears toward the creative and the meticulous. In randomly generated worlds built with incredibly diverse biomes, players can create just about anything they can conjure up. From houses and castles down to entire villages and cities. However, if you’re really looking to get creative and have some fun, then you should look into building your very own dance floor!
In this guide, we will explore how to make a dance floor in Minecraft.
How to Make a Dance Floor in Minecraft
Since there aren’t any designated dance floor blocks or items in Minecraft, you will need to get creative. So, the general idea of this strategy is to make a platform of light sources that blink at different intervals. These could be random intervals or set intervals, but the end goal is the same.

Without further ado, here’s how to make a dance floor in Minecraft;
- Make a hole (8×8 and 7 deep).
- Use two Repeaters and some Redstone Dust to make a Redstone Clock at the bottom of the hole.
- Link it to a Dispenser one level higher, and fill that layer with Glass (or any other block type).
- Make a platform so that Observers can look at the level above the Dispenser, and then place a Bucket of Water in the Dispenser.
- Place a Redstone Lamp on top of each Observer.
And that’s it! Now, all you need to do is decorate the area to make it more lively and you will have successfully created a fully functional dance floor in Minecraft. If you ever want to expand the area, you can always add in more Dispensers, Redstone Lamps, and Observers.
