The best way to farm a ton of XP and level up the Carpentry skill quickly is by breaking down items inside of warehouses. Warehouses can be found scattered throughout Project Zomboid, and inside you can find loads of wooden boxes, which can be broken down to gain XP. Schools are another good option as they too feature various items that can be broken down, specifically desks, tables, and doors.

As you progress through each level of the skill, your character will become quicker as well. Meaning you will be able to build and disassemble items faster, which can help you gain XP in the stat. However, to level up the Carpentry skill in Project Zomboid even faster, you should combine dismantling items with reading Carpentry Skill books and watching Carpentry VHS tapes.

Reading Skill books can provide a massive amount of XP toward Carpentry, particularly if you’re able to make it through these five books in order;

  1. Carpentry for Beginners (Levels 1 to 2)
  2. Carpentry for Intermediates (Levels 3 to 4)
  3. Advanced Carpentry (Levels 5 to 6)
  4. Expert Carpentry (Levels 7 to 8)
  5. Master Carpentry (Levels 9 to 10)

All Carpentry Skill books can be found in places like residential homes, schools, libraries, and bookstores. While Carpentry VHS tapes can be found in residential homes, gas stations, and VHS stores. If you combine these three methods, you can level up your Carpentry skill in no time.
