When Does Dead Island 2 Release?
The game is slated to release for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Google Stadia in February 2023.
February 3rd, 2023 to be exact.
Dead Island 2 was originally set to be developed by Yager Development before changing hands a couple times to Sumo Digital and finally Dambuster Studios. The game was first announced in 2014, which (checks calendar) feels like a century now. Back then, the game promised a fun zombie romp through the sunlit streets of California. Fortunately, it appears that the current version of Dead Island 2 may fulfill that promise.
Based on what we’ve seen so far, the new installment is keeping the franchise’s quirky humor and even appears to be set in California for that matter. Considering this game was announced in 2014, we were in the camp of thinking we would never see it. Apparently, we were wrong. Now we are just hoping the game is different enough and original enough to warrant an almost 9-year development cycle.
