5 Funniest Glitches / Bugs in Saints Row (2022)

I Can't Stop Laughing!!

It goes without saying that a brand new game is going to have bugs and glitches. It’s just the name of the game, so to speak. But, while these instances can prove to be very annoying to experience, they can also be extremely entertaining to watch. As much as it pains us to admit, the latest iteration of Saints Row is no exception. While they could be patched out by the time you read this, these bugs and glitches deserve to be remembered for being … hilarious. Here are some of the funniest bugs and glitches in Saints Row.

5. “Draw, Pardner!”

This glitch comes courtesy of Twitter user @TheEmeraldStar / SkillUp.

Starting us off, we have an eldritch horror the likes of which can only be seen in the world of video games. In this clip (which could feature endgame spoilers, so be careful!) the Boss is having a duel with another character, only for the other character’s body to distort from the waist-up as they draw. To add insult to hilarity, this character briefly ‘a-poses’ before glitching out, making this one incredibly funny.

4. “I Ran … I Ran So Far Away”

This one comes to us thanks to Dan Ryckert, the Creative Director of Giant Bomb. In their game, they came across a game-breaking glitch that only allows their character to run. It wouldn’t let them jump, shoot, enter cars, etc. and to make matters worse, it’s not a problem they could fix by returning to an earlier save. I can only imagine how utterly painful this was for Ryckert. But, at the same time, there’s a certain amount of schadenfreude that comes with this kinda thing. It’s funny, but also not really funny.

3. Well, That Seems Counterproductive, Huh?

It would seem that some players are reporting that they’re dead upon spawning into the world. I can’t imagine the raw reaction of preparing to enter the world of the game, only to immediately be killed.

2. “Too Long Test Text Goes Here”

It’s then that we get to the photo heard ’round the world. This one comes to us thanks to Chris Schilling, the Deputy Editor for Edge and Game & Film Critic for Total Film. In their game, they encountered a ping notification that awarded them 50XP for a Headshot Kill. But, it also included what appears to be a placeholder graphic reading: “Label, Too Long Test Text Goes Here.”

Of course — given the franchise’s history with humor, you wouldn’t be invalid to think this was a feature, not a bug. If this was one of the only instances, that’d be believable. But … it’s not.

1. Cars Vanish During ‘Insurance Fraud’

I think this one might be the funniest example of an unintended bug / glitch that I’ve seen (so far). In this clip, courtesy of content creator Critical_Nobody, they attempt to complete a quest called “Insurance Fraud,” but the lack of vehicles on the street makes it impossible. I don’t know about y’all, but towards the end of the clip when vehicles return only to fade away again was utterly hilarious to me.
