Biggest Jump Scares in the Mortuary Assistant

We love a good jump scare. We love it when it’s not happening to us. Imagine playing Mortuary Assistant, in Virtual Reality, and seeing this supposedly dead body come back to life, spouting biblical nonsense? That’s terrifying! It’s funny when other streamers are becoming invested to the game to the point where they forget where they are and are genuinely surprised when a jump scare occurs. Let’s take a look at five of the biggest jump scares in Mortuary Assistant so you know when to close your eyes.

1. She’s outside!

There’s someone outside! Did you see that!? She’s just staring at you outside the window! If you aren’t prepared for this one you’re going to scream. She’s in the corner of your eye and you get this uncomfortable feeling of dread as you’re doing your daily tasks. You feel like someone is there and you CAN miss it, but if you don’t, you’ll be screaming. Try to pay attention to your surroundings because the ghosts are real and the jumpscares are real.

2. RUN!

This entry in our list of biggest jumpscares in The Mortuary Assistant is towards the beginning and it’s one of the first jump scares you really are introduced to. It’s the infamous “I’m going to run straight into you” sort of jump scare. You see this terrifying woman, and as you get closer, her neck is crooked and she’s standing in an eery hallway. You have a few seconds where you can approach her carefully to try to rip the band-aid off slowly, but in a flash, she’s running straight at you with no warning. After she runs into you the game gives you some time to catch your breathe.

3. Let me do my job!

Imagine you are a mortuary assistant and you have to perform some tasks. Some of these tasks involve cutting open a body, writing notes, getting the body prepared with chemicals. As you’re working hard on the tasks given to you, you look up from the body, and you see someone standing in the hallway. When you notice her the lights go off in the hallway. She’s now turning the lights off-and-on trying to play with you. Is this the ghost of the woman you’re performing medical duties on? All we know is she’s not happy and if you approach her she’ll come for you fast.

4. Um, HELLO TO YOU!

This one is probably the worst one on our list of the Mortuary Asisstant’s biggest jumpscares. It happens OUT OF NOWHERE. All we wanted to do was grab the needle injector. It was there on the shelf and you just popping out of thin air is something we didn’t want to happen. We’re just trying to do our job and this isn’t the same ghost we have been seeing throughout the game. This is something new. What even is it? We don’t want to know. We just want it to disappear.

5. I am Here

As you’re preparing to transport the body to another section of the building the gurney just halts. It jolts and forces you to drop it. The woman also makes a moaning sound once you drop the gurney. This is terrifying if you’re wearing headphones and you’re listening to it loudly. After she makes these sounds she then proceeds to talk and glare at you with her revolting deceased possessed eyes. She then says “I am here” and laughs menacingly. Her body is dragged by an unseen force and darkness takes over. It is absolutely terrifying.

Those are the top five biggest jump scares in Mortuary Assistant. The game released August 2nd and is available to play on PC on Steam. If you’re looking for a good scare this is the game for you! People are already calling it one of the scariest games of this year. For more Mortuary Assistant tips & tricks check out our guides on Gamer Journalist.
