In the most recent Pokemon Presents livestream, information on the eagerly awaited DLC for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet was revealed. It will manifest as one DLC with two parts. The campaign is called The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, named after the enigmatic final area of Scarlet and Violet. To make things even more mysterious, it’ll be split into two halves: The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk.
But, some fans have been curious — will both Scarlet and Violet players have the same experience in this DLC? It’s not unlike Nintendo and Game Freak to make certain features version-specific, so it wouldn’t be surprising if they did the same thing here. Read on to learn what differences — if any — exist between the two versions of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero.
Will the DLC be the Same for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?
It would certainly seem that way. In official descriptions of the additional campaign, Nintendo does not use any language that would indicate certain features will be version-specific. That said, it’s important to note that, when buying the DLC, you must buy the correct version. This could indicate the existence of a version-specific feature that hasn’t been revealed yet. It could also just be a benign quirk attributed to this DLC. If it’s the former, we’ll be sure to update this page accordingly.

Will Scarlet and Violet DLC Feature Any Version Exclusive Pokemon?
As of publication, it doesn’t look like it does. Based on the language used by Nintendo / Game Freak, the biggest distinction when it comes to new and returning ‘mons is based on the individual DLC parts. This means that, as of now, there will be no version-exclusive pokemon, but there will be new ‘mons coming to the experience in both The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk.
The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero is set to include two brand new stories set in the world of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. In addition, a whole slew of ‘mons never seen before, including Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti, as well as over 230 monsters that were not included in the Paldean pokédex. The Teal Mask is set for release this Fall, and The Indigo Disk will follow shortly this Winter.
