As previously mentioned, players are able to visit Hogsmeade in Hogwarts Legacy. Hogsmeade is understandably one of the most popular destinations in the game, though players are unable to fly in and out of it for whatever reason. If you’re tired of not being able to fly around Hogsmeade at will, you’re not alone. Keep reading to find out why you’re not allowed to fly in Hogsmeade in Hogwarts Legacy!

Why Can’t You Fly in Hogsmeade in Hogwarts Legacy?

Not being able to fly out of Hogsmeade on your broom is a hell of a nuisance, but there is a valid reason why you’re unable to. If you pay attention while playing the game, it’s actually explained that there are multiple “no-fly zones” in the wizarding world for safety reasons. Hogsmeade, due to its dense population of people and buildings, is one of those “no-fly zones”. This explains why you’re not allowed to whip out your broom every time you finish a shopping trip.

Although the existence of “no-fly zones” in the wizarding world explains why you’re not allowed to fly around Hogsmeade in the game, it doesn’t explain why the developers of Hogwarts Legacy would add such an arbitrary rule to one of the game’s most popular destinations. Thankfully, however, there’s a reasonable explanation for that too.

As previously mentioned, Hogsmeade is one of the most popular destinations in Hogwarts Legacy. This area is densely populated with NPCs, along with numerous buildings and interactable items. It’s hard enough for the game to load that many assets at once at a leisurely pace, but if you were to swoop in at top speed on a broom? It’d be nearly impossible for the game to load that many assets simultaneously at that speed. Doing so could cause some major glitches, or even cause the game to crash altogether.

The developers decided to make Hogsmeade a “no-fly zone” for player protection, so your game can run smoothly during your trips to Hogsmeade and back. So although having to walk in and out of Hogsmeade every time may seem annoying, it’s actually for your protection!
