Who Voices the Main Character in Atomic Heart?

Who's that voice?

Voice acting has become an intense subject in video games. With video games getting more exposure and adaptation, people want to recognize the originals who brought these amazing characters to life. For Atomic Heart, there’s a bit of confusion and mild controversy around the voice acting. We will go into a bit more detail. Firstly, keep in mind that the English version of the game is not the original intended language. So let’s talk about who voices the main characters in Atomic Heart.

Who Voices the Main Character in Atomic Heart

Atomic Heart takes place in a sci-fi technologically advanced Soviet Russia. It has become a utopian paradise for the Russian people. Naturally, as created by Mundfish, a primarily Russian game studio, the Russian language was the primary language for the game. This also includes somewhat famous Russian native actor Sasha Lomov as the voice for the main character Comrade Major Sergey Alekseyevich Nechaev, aka P-3. Mundfish have stated Lomov was ‘perfect’ for the role and already embodied the Major to them.

Major P-3 is a somewhat stoic, hardboiled, and rather bland main character. This seems like a purposeful choice considering the progression of the plot. However, a more concerning aspect is the dialogue itself is rather crude and vulgar, feeling very uncharacteristic to a degree. Then we have a very dry, empty, and dull delivery by the English voice actor, P-3’s character choice is turning some heads and sends some people away.

So while the Russian language delivery seems to do its job, the English voice acting is beyond lackluster with the aggressive and blunt dialogue. This has led to many wanting to know who’s voicing the English version of Comrade P-3.

Is Jensen Ackels the English Voice Actor?

About a week before the release of the game, very well-known American TV actor Jensen Ackles was in a commercial for Atomic Heart. The star of Supernatural and The Boys played a live-action version of P-3 destroying some robots to sell the game over the recently released Hogwarts Legacy by helping out a kid dressed as a Wizard. This caused many who saw it to think Jensen was voicing P-3 in the English version and that this trailer was the reveal for that.

Sadly, this is not the case either. Ackels seems to only be involved in hyping up the game in the trailer. The ending credits for Atomic Heart have the names of every voice actor for every language. Disheartedly, Jensen Ackles is not among the English cast of names.

To make matters more confusing, the cast credits do not list the roles of the listed actors. Indeed, the English voice cast is just an alphabetical list of those involved. So currently there is no way to officially find out who voices P-3 in English. He is among this list of nearly 45 credited voice actors. However, unless you comb through to recognize some names, at this time we don’t know for certain.
