Ah — death. We can’t escape it, and neither can the characters in A Plague Tale: Requiem! It’s both surprising and not at all surprising how many characters bite the dust in this grimdark series about a genetic curse that gives its host the power to control rats! Who Dies in A Plague Tale: Requiem?

Vaudin

To start things off, we’ve got the alchemist and magister himself, Vaudin. He was a representative for the Order who agreed to provide Amicia, Hugo, Beatrice, and Lucas with aid in their time of need. But, Vaudin was a casualty of Hugo’s Macula, and was killed by a swarm of rats.

Beatrice

Beatrice, the mother of Amicia and Hugo, tragically met her end at the hands of Emilie. Amicia tried to save her, but her efforts were dashed by Victor. What makes a miserable scene worse is that Hugo saw it happen, triggering an onslaught of enemy soldiers.

Arnaud (and Victor)

Amicia and Arnaud make it their mission to rescue Hugo from Victor. But, the count doesn’t plan on going down without a struggle! Arnaud fights Victor, who eventually impales the shamed knight. But, shortly thereafter, Victor meets his own end at the hands of Amicia and the wrong end of a rock.

Hugo

In a stunning turn of events, one of the principle characters, Hugo, meets his untimely end. Hugo was the carrier for the Prima Macula, and towards the end of Requiem, he gives himself over to the blood disease. Left with no other option, Amicia is forced to use her sling to bring her brother’s life to a swift end.
