What is a Water Stone?

Water Stones have been in Pokémon since Red, Blue, and Yellow. These Stones are used to evolve Pokémon into another form through the consumption of the Stone. The Scarlet and Violet Pokémon examples of evolutions using the Water Stones are:

  • Eevee into Vaporeon
  • Shellder into Cloyster

Water Stone Locations

The Water Stone Locations inside the Paldea region are as follows:

  • Along the riverbed, south-west of Cascarrafa entrance. It is to the right of the town bridge. You will see two buildings to your left as you approach the Water Stone. It is on the edge of the river.

  • In the South Province (Area Six). Use the Legendary Pokémon Miraidon or Koraidon to help you get to this Stone. You need to jump up to the mid-layer of the waterfall. There are 4 jumps you need to make to get to this section as you cannot access it from the other side of the waterfall as you cannot make the jump. If you fall into water, you will be placed back on land.

Where to Buy

Water Stones can also be bought in Stores inside Cascarrafa, Levincia and Mesagoza. However, these are always expensive and never a good choice, especially if you plan on evolving multiple Pokémon. If you wanted to fast track an evolution, the shop can be used but it is best to explore the surrounding areas, behind gyms for possible loot spots and going to areas in the Paldea region that is appropriate to possibly having a Water Stone, such as areas surrounded by water as seen in the locations above.

This will be updated if more Water Stones are found in the wilderness of the Paldea region, but for now these are the Water Stone locations in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. For more Pokémon Content see: How to Get Armarouge and Ceruledge in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
