Where to Find the Pirate Gold in Jagged Alliance 3

'O' marks the spot

From keeping the Legion off your back to ridding the streets of any war criminals, there is a ton to do inside the game of Jagged Alliance 3. With many characters to meet, unique stories to listen to and choices to be made on the fate of many, sometimes it is nice to take a break or a breather from the madness and go out into the world in search for some treasure. As zombies are not the only bizarre addition to this war game, you can channel your inner Indiana Jones in the search for treasure for the Pirate Gold Quest. This is Vincent’s guide on where to find the Pirate Gold in Jagged Alliance 3.

How to Complete Pirate Gold Quest in Jagged Alliance 3

For those who have not found the pirate gold, you will need to begin this quest in Sector H8. Specifically, head to the Fleatown and speak with Father Tooker who will tell you a ghost story. The quest leads you directly to Sector I10 in which you will need to find and defeat a Legion squad. Investigate the spot next to the docked boat. This will give you access to the Ambush Spots of the Legion which can be directly interacted with via ‘O’ on Keyboard to view them on your Map. In order to hit every Ambush Spot, send a Merc to every area at once where the restless spirit will come out to attack you via the northern Ambush Spot.

You will need to defeat him and loot the body for the treasure map. This will take you back to the church to speak to Father Tooker and then head directly for the treasure yourself. When speaking to Father Tooker, select the options ‘Hidden treasure’ and ‘No idea’ when the choices come up on the dialogue wheel. Follow the map to the treasure located at the statue that you can interact with. For the final time, converse with the Father in which you will either steal or pass over the treasure.

How to Keep the Pirate Gold

What is crucial about these dialogue options is that there is a locked option that can only be unlocked by having a very specific Perk titled the Scoundrel. By having this on one of your Mercs in your squad, you will be able to select the ‘evidence’ dialogue prompt that allows you to keep the treasure without any consequence. Whilst keeping the treasure will mean that you lose 5 Loyalty with Fleatown and upset your hired Mercs that were present at the time of the decision. Finally, choosing to hand it over will gain both 15 Loyalty points and please your Mercs.

The choice is yours on what to do with this, however as this quest is not timed, you may wish to hire out a Merc with Scoundrel so that you can get the treasure for free, having gained Loyalty by speaking to the Father first before seeking the treasure out.
