When a Pokémon levels up and wants to learn a new move, the game kind of puts you on the spot. You gotta decide in the heat of the moment which of its existing moves you need the least, but there’s a distinct chance you’ll come to regret replacing that move with something new. Or maybe you just fat-fingered the face buttons and accidentally overwrote the wrong move. Goodness knows I’ve done that. Either way, when you need your Pokémon to relearn one of its previous moves, you’ll have to seek out the move relearner. Here’s where to find the move relearner in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
The move relearner, which is actually called the move reminder in-game but no one calls him that, is a guy that can reteach your Pokémon any moves it previously knew or would otherwise learn between level 1 and its current level. To clarify, though, the move relearner can only reteach a move a Pokémon learned by leveling up. If you taught your Pokémon a move with a TM, he can’t reteach that; you’ll have to use the TM again.
Where to find the Move Relearner in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl
In both Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, the move relearner can be found in Pastoria City. He’s in a house on the northeast side of the city; there’s a dude with overalls in front of the house, and it’s right next to a big lake.
In order to hire the move relearner’s services, you’ll need to pay one Heart Scale per move relearned. Heart Scales are treasure items that can be obtained in three ways:
- Dig in the walls of the Grand Underground
- Catch a wild Luvdisc; it may be holding a Heart Scale
- Encounter a wild Luvdisc and use either Thief or Covet to steal a Heart Scale from it
That’s where you can find the move relearner (or reminder) in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl!
