Where to find Ralts in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Where to find Ralts in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

What’s the first thing you think of when you think of the Ralts line? Besides creepy fanart of Gardevoir, I mean? Yes, powerful Psychic types! The members of the Ralts line, including Ralts, Kirlia, Gardevoir, and Gallade, are all highly capable Psychic/Fairy type Pokémon, with Gardevoir in particular being an expert at deflecting powerful special attacks. You certainly can’t go wrong having a Gardevoir in your party, but to make that happen, you gotta catch a Ralts first and evolve it up. Here’s where to find Ralts in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.

Now, unfortunately, Ralts are not naturally occurring in Sinnoh, at least not above ground. There are no Routes or particular areas you can source one in. However, thanks to the expansion of the Underground into the Grand Underground in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, we’ve got a new place to look: underground biomes.

Ralts and, on occasion, Kirlia can spawn in very particular Pokémon Hideaway biomes, specifically caves full of crystals and water. Ralts has been pegged to appear in three locations in particular:

  • Dazzling Cave
  • Stargleam Cavern
  • Fountainspring Cave

When you enter one of these caves in the Grand Underground, take a lap around and look for a Ralts. If one doesn’t spawn, just leave the cave and come back in to reset the Pokémon spawns. If you’re lucky, you’ll encounter a Ralts, though much like Abras, they have a tendency to teleport, so keep it in the encounter by paralyzing it, taunting it, or putting it to sleep.

Just a reminder, Ralts evolves into Kirlia at level 20, then into Gardevoir at level 30. If the Kirlia is a male, you can also evolve it into Gallade using a Dawn Stone.
