What is Prosciutto Used For in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

Prosciutto is one of the common ingredients of Scarlet and Violet. Used solely to craft sandwiches. Sandwiches are an essential part of the Pokémon collecting experience in Scarlet and Violet. Their purpose is to give its players temporary boosting abilities called the Meal Powers. These can be to boost the catching and encountering of Pokémon. Or to give other mechanics a boost such as EXP and dropped loot from wild Pokémon. The Picnic function is a key mark of the game that helps the players massively.

Comparatively, it is more useful than previous features such as Pokémon camping. Whilst these level up your Pokémon fast and develop the bond between the player and their Pokémon. They do not offer much in regard to increasing your chances. Especially when it comes to Pokémon Shiny Hunting. This is an important part of Scarlet and Violet. Additionally, sandwich making combined with Shiny Hunting through the Picnic Reset methods massively increases those Shiny odds.

The ingredients used per sandwich will determine what Meal Powers you receive for a period of 30 minutes. Prosciutto is a key ingredient for finding specific Shiny Pokémon-Types.

Where to Find Prosciutto

This sandwich ingredient can only be found in one food stall. However, this stall is located in multiple places around Paldea. Players must go to the Deli Cioso stalls. Deli Cioso is located in the cities/towns:

  • On the western side of Mesagoza, the central city of Paldea with the Academy at the peak of the city. The stalls Sure Cans and Artisan Bakery are located on the western side of the city too. Players can pick up the majority of the common ingredients for sandwich recipes here. For players just getting started, this place is the best bet to pick up those ingredients.
  • For those looking to use the Town Method, players should visit Porto Marinada or Artazon. Porto Marinada is located between Asado Desert and West Province (Area Two). This is one of the few stalls inside the marketplace. Sure Cans and Artisan Bakery are here too. There is also pre-made sandwich stalls and a stall to pick up bargains. Artazon is found on the south-eastern side of Paldea. It is a small town located south of the eastern city of Levincia.

For players looking to pick up items for general use such as levelling-up or increasing the happiness levels of their Pokémon, they should go to Mesagoza for their stock. For those looking to catch specific Pokémon, such as Shiny Pokémon or a certain Type, the combination of Picnic Resetting and Town Method should be executed. The ingredient is incredibly useful in crafting specific sandwich recipes which target the appearance of Pokémon-Types and Shiny Pokémon in the wild. Specifically, it helps with boosting the encountering odds of these Pokémon. It is incredibly useful for players trying to complete the Paldean Pokédex.
