Why are there so many Oval Stones?

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, released November 18th, 2022, sees the return of capturing Pokémon, leveling up, building up that Pokedex knowledge, and evolving the Pokémon when players see fit. As every Pokémon fan knows by now that the evolution stones are back in Scarlet and Violet and can evolve a unique set of Pokémon. Such as Eevee who can evolve into a more powerful version of itself. Not only can we buy and locate these evolution stones, but the game has included various spots to find the item, Oval Stone. Here are the Oval Stone locations in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

What are Oval Stones?

Oval Stones is an evolution item, used solely on the Pokémon Happiny to evolve into Chansey. It is crucial to its evolution. To do this, give the Happiny the Oval Stone to hold as you are leveling the Pokémon up. The Happiny simply needs to level up once for the Oval Stone to work, this will then evolve the Happiny into a Chansey. Happiny is in the newest Pokémon game, Scarlet and Violet. Interestingly, there are a lot of Oval Stones around the Paldea region. Perhaps for Generation 9, there are more Pokémon that can be evolved using the Oval Stone and not just for Happiny.

For now, we do not know whether more Pokémon will be added to the list of Pokémon that can evolve with the Oval Stone.

Where to Find Oval Stones in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

There are many Oval Stone locations in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. These are the known locations of Scarlet and Violet’s Oval Stone.

Levincia

  • The first of the Oval Stone locations is in the northern Levincia town. The Oval Stone is on the sidewalk, between two bushes and beside a tree, on the corner of the street. Look out for the beam of light indicating that there is an item to pick up in the area.

North Province Area Two

  • The next Oval Stone is located in between a rock and a hard place. This area is surrounded by trees and rocks. Pick up the Oval Stone behind one of the rocks, in between the rock and the cliffside wall. Again, when searching these areas, we recommend that players look out for the beam of light. This will tell you that there is an item in that spot.
