Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has arrived as of November 18th, 2022. The latest Pokémon instalment mixes the Pokémon we all know, of battling Gym Leader with the new gameplay mechanics of Arceus, in the open world, observing and capturing Pokémon in their natural habitat. Players see the return of evolution stones, alongside the addition of many new Pokémon for Generation 9. Some stones are purchasable but most need to be found through exploration in the Paldea biomes. This is our guide for Dusk Stone locations in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
What are Dusk Stones?
Dusk Stones are a consumable evolution stone that can transform a Pokémon into its upgraded version. Where most Pokémon evolve based on their level, a small set of unique Pokémon such as Eevee can only be evolved by using these evolution stones. The Pokémons which can be evolved using the Dusk Stone in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are:
- Murkrow into Honchkrow
- Misdreavus into Mismagius
With the addition of 100+ new Pokémon for the Paldea region, totalling at 400 Pokémon to find and obtain to complete the Scarlet and Violet Pokedex. Gen 9 Pokémon may be new additions to the unique set of special Pokémon that can only be evolved using the Dusk Stone. We will just have to wait and see. With these Pokémon listed above, we can easily get the Dusk Stones in Paldea and evolve them.
Dusk Stone Locations
Unlike Thunder, Fire, Water, Leaf and Thunder, Dusk Stones are one of the evolution stones that cannot be bought in the stores around the Paldea region. Instead, players need to find Dusk Stones that are scattered around Paldea. As of Scarlet and Violet’s release, the Dusk Stone, same as the evolution stones: Moon, Shiny, Sun and Dawn are obtained by going to specific areas on the map. These are the Dusk Stone locations in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
- The first Dusk Stone can be found in Montenevera, behind the Pokémon Centre.
- The second Dusk Stone can be found in Area One of West Province. This can be found in a small alcove area in the grassy fields. There are no other items in this area so look for the beam of light as an indication for the Dusk Stone item.
As the Dusk Stone cannot be purchased, these are the current known areas of the Paldea map for the Dusk Stone locations. This will be updated if there are more Dusk Stone locations but for now, these Stones are incredibly limited. Much like the rest of the evolution stones in the game. Because of its limited resource and it being a one-time pick-up item, the chances of evolving multiple Pokémon are miniscule. Therefore, when you have found this stone, be mindful on who you choose to evolve.
