When Video Games reference other Video Games, the stars align in those moments. There is no greater repect than a Developer adding in an Easter Egg that is referencing another Developer’s work. So when fans spotted this Dark Souls reference in Hogwarts Legacy, its safe to say that I was excited. All of this to hype up the spotting of a Campfire with a sword in it, but really what else could a visual like that be referencing? The reference is short and sweet, inside a small clearing in the Forest, dedicated to this Hogwarts Legacy Easter Egg. Where to Find the Dark Souls Easter Egg
The Dark Souls Easter Egg can be found in the most northern region of Hogwarts, inside the North Ford Bog. You need to head to the far northern side of the Map and upon the cliffs towards the peak of the Maps edge. Very close to the Easter Egg is a Small Bandit Camp. You should use this as a point of reference for your Easter Egg search. You need to go directly to the purple player arrow in the screenshot.
The Dark Souls Easter Egg Reference
When you arrive to this exact point located on the screenshot above, you will stumble upon a clearing within the Forest where the Easter Egg can be found. Here a Graveyard can be found, reminiscent of the Hunter’s Dream in Bloodborne. Before the Graveyard however, a single Campfire can be seen, and in its centre is a sword. The flame is lit, inviting you to sit and rest for a bit. But the option is unfortunately not given to players. Instead, loot can be obtained beside the Campfire, as if someone had just been here. IF only Avalanche Software coded in the ability to sit beside it. However, its nod towards FromSoftware is a welcoming one.
