Pokémon Scarlet and Violet brings back the paradox Pokémon. Pokémon who are exclusive to the Scarlet and Violet versions of the game. One of the exclusive Violet Pokémon is Bagon, a rare, strong Dragon-Type Pokémon. For players looking to find a great Pokémon, whether they are collecting Dragon-Type or building a great team for taking on the Gym Leader, Bagon is a great Pokémon to catch. Its spawn rarity has proven harder to find than other Pokémon in the Violet version. For now, these are the locations where you can find, capture and evolve Bagon in Pokémon Violet.
Where to Catch Bagon in Pokémon Violet
Bagon is located in the Paldea provinces and areas:
- South Province (Area Five)
- East Province (Area Three)
- South Province (Area Two)
Bagon can be found relatively early in the game. Located on the outskirts of South Province (Area Two). Simply exit Cortondo and head south-west. Cross the river by Cortondo and head south as if you were going to South Province (Area Six). If you cannot get across the river, you can take the longer route from Cortondo and into South Province (Area Four). Bagon is located in a cave system which looks like a long tunnel, in this area marked on the map below. We recommend regularly checking this area throughout the day as the spawn rate is rarer than other Pokémon.
Bagon can also be found in Tera Raids and Mass Outbreaks. With Levels ranging from 16 to 38. Dragon-Type Pokémon are weak to Ice, Fairy and other Dragon-Types.
How to Evolve Bagon
Levelling up Bagon is a commitment but with fantastic rewards. With two evolutions of Shelgon and Salamence, there are no specific requirements for players to evolve Bagon. All players need to do is focus on levelling Bagon up. The evolution line levels are Level 30 for Shelgon and Level 50 for Salamence.
Bagon is a great Dragon-Type Pokémon, with base Attack DMG stats of 75, Balgon can evolve into Salamence and at max level, have a damage output of 205. Salamence is a great alternative to the Pokémon Gyarados and Charizard. Although Charizard does not appear as a normal Pokémon in the Scarlet and Violet, a Tera Charizard is available to catch in the Black Crystal Tera Raid. Gyarados as always, is available in both Scarlet and Violet.
As Bagon is an exclusive Pokémon to the Violet version of Scarlet and Violet. Players who purchased Scarlet can obtain Bagon through trading with a user who owns Violet. That is, if Scarlet players are looking to 100% complete their Pokedex.
