In order to actually get Brook to join your party and recruit him, you’re going to have to progress pretty far into the story to make that happen. You see, Brook is actually one of the last characters that you’re going to be meeting up with, so you shouldn’t expect to have him join your party until you’re nearing the journey’s end.

But having Brook join your crew should be highly anticipated, as he’s got some pretty wicked special abilities. Aside from heavy attack-specific ones, he’s got a sick guitar riff that will buff party members’ attacks for a limited time.

He’ll explain what had happened to him during the crash when he went overboard and sank to the bottom of the seafloor. Of course, his Revive-Revive Fruit comes into play as part of the reason why he’s still chugging along.
