Where Does Star Ocean: The Divine Force Occur?

As mentioned, this time around we follow Raymond Lawrence, who is forced to abandon ship along with a crewmate. In a last ditch effort to survive an assault from an enemy vessel, they head for Aster IV, which is like a snapshot of an olden age. Kingdoms of yore do battle with each other, serving as a backdrop for the latest in a long-running series of adventure games.

When Does Star Ocean: The Divine Force Occur?

Star Ocean: The Divine Force is set in S.D. 583, which is nearly fifty years after Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness. For additional context, that is nearly 250 years after the original Star Ocean. To expand things even further, since the original Star Ocean is — technically, anyway — set in 2432 C.E., that would mean this one is set in 2669 C.E. It hardly needs to be said (but I’ll say it anyway); that’s nearly 700 years in the future relative to the year 2022 C.E.! Who knows? Maybe we’ll get warp tech soon …

Star Ocean: The Divine Force is currently available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Stick with Gamer Journalist for more Star Ocean content, as well as coverage of games just like it!
