When Will Them’s Fightin’ Herds Chapter Two Release?

Chapter Two When?!

As players make their way to the finale of the Foggy Mountaintops in Them’s Fightin’ Herds’ story mode, a surprise awaits them. Not only is there an — admittedly cool — unwinnable, scripted battle, but that’s also … the end of chapter one? To add insult to injury, the implication is that future chapters will put us in the shoes of other playable characters, so … is this the end of Arizona’s story?!

It’s an understatement to say that the first chapter of Them’s Fightin’ Herds offers more questions than answers. Among these questions is arguably one of the most importantwhen can players jump into the second chapter? Unfortunately, the answer is truly a mixed bag.

When Will Them’s Fightin’ Herds Chapter Two Release?

In a post dated May 25, 2022, on the official Them’s Fightin’ Herds forum, Aaron Stavely, production manager at Mane6, had this to say:

“In our last Development Update we stated that “barring any unfortunate circumstances” we’d be able to finish all main Story Mode chapters before the end of 2022. Story Mode production is continuing along, but there have been circumstances.”

It would seem that these “circumstances” include the release of the “console ports and new localization systems.” As of publication, this seems to be the latest update regarding story mode. It’s not worth becoming upset, however — according to Stavely, “Chapter 2, starring Velvet, is still in ze works.”

It’s unclear if they’ll be releasing each chapter as it’s finished, or if they’ll drop it all at once. I can imagine they’ll opt to take the true episodic release, but only time can truly tell.
