The NIS American Showcase of 2022 highlighted the localisation of Shikabanegurai no Boukenmeshi, a dungeon survival and cooking RPG that released in January of this year in Japan. Western players will have their cooking knives at the ready for an early release next year, but first, what is Monster Menu: The Scavenger’s Cookbook?
What is Monster Menu: The Scavenger’s Cookbook?
According to NIS America’s description:
“Joining the strategy RPG ranks, Monster Menu: The Scavenger’s Cookbook brings new flavors of strategy and adventure to the Nippon Ichi Software mix!”
“Tighten your pack and loosen your belt before digging into this dungeon-crawling survival adventure! Monster Menu: The Scavenger’s Cookbook spices up the classic strategy RPG formula with deliciously fun cooking-based mechanics. Indulge in detailed character creation for your party, gather resources, ingredients, and items while exploring, and fight monsters in tactical combat. Then kick back by the campfire as you use what you’ve collected to cook meals that can give you the edge for your next course of dungeon delving.”
Furthermore, there is customisation to its playable characters where each member of the team of four can be altered in their appearance and design, including voice and poses. Its art designer will undoubtedly be familiar to the majority of us as the character designer of the Disgaea series, Takehito Harada. The game will release with both English and Japanese audio and meshes together various genres including roguelike and strategy.
When does Monster Menu: The Scavenger’s Cookbook release?
Monster Menu: The Scavenger’s Cookbook will arrive on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 in Spring 2023.
In the meantime, you can pre-order a standard copy or limited edition of the game across the platforms via NIS America’s US store page and NIS America’s Europe store page.
