What to Do with Dissenters in Cult of the Lamb

Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat

In Cult of the Lamb, one of the biggest mechanics is finding and indoctrinating new followers into your cult. But, what happens if — and when — the new members begin to doubt your sermons? Or, what do you do if the new recruit you so graciously accepted into your commune has ill intent?! If you’re facing this problem, worry not! Cult of the Lamb comes with several options for dealing with dissenters.

How to Deal with Dissenters in Cult of the Lamb

First, it should be acknowledged that the longer you let your Faith linger in the yellow or red, the more likely you will be to have dissenters. To be frank, you could easily avoid this problem entirely by keeping your Faith in the green. But, we all make mistakes. Here’s some options for handling dissenters.

Building Prison/s and Re-Educating

In the second tier of Divine Inspiration upgrades, you will find the Prison. If you’d like to build one, they cost 20 Gold Coins and 25 Lumber to construct, and once it’s built, you can imprison dissenters. In order to imprison them, simply interact with dissenters and click the INTERACT option. Then, select the option that resembles prison bars. After a humorous animation, the dissenter will be unable to spread their toxin to the other — loyal — followers.

You can then opt to re-educate the dissenter once per day until their dissent meter is completely drained. It should be noted that they are not completely re-educated until their eyes are no longer colored red. If their eyes are still red, don’t release them!! It’s not worth the risk of your cult falling apart by the seams!

Just … Kill Them!

Or, if you simply don’t feel like dealing with all of that … you could just kill the dissenter. It might not be the most elegant of solutions, but it’s definitely a solution. To sacrifice the dissenter before they’re able to taint the rest of your flock, simply head to the Temple and choose to perform either the Sacrifice of the Flesh or the Ascend Follower Ritual.

No matter which option you take, remember that dissenters — when left alone for long enough — will leave the cult and rob you of some Gold Coins. So, make sure you handle them before that happens!
