What is Xenologue in Fire Emblem Engage? – Answered

Ready to Engage even more than before?

Fire Emblem Engage’s upcoming downloadable content appeared in a segment on today’s Nintendo Direct to highlight its second DLC Wave/Pack. Within the given albeit brief rundown for what we can expect from the rest of its Packs, this specific terminology is used, which is not a first for the long-running series. Find out more about it just below!

What is Xenologue in Fire Emblem Engage?

Previously seen in Fire Emblem Awakening back on the 3DS, its own Expansion Passes contained new maps, recruitable characters, classes, skills and useable items/resources. Any battle chapter was given the title “Xenologue”. The term was used to separate the mainline chapters with the DLC ones to note it being exclusively downloaded content.

The same usage can be seen in Fire Emblem Fates, Heroes and most recently now with Engage. However, this appears to be locked within Wave 4 only, so players will have to wait for it to eventually release for the new story content that this will be exclusive to across the entire Expansion Pass. This Pack will also contain new classes, characters, locations and maps to explore.

In the meantime, look forward to Wave 2’s additional legendary Emblem Rings, support items and new accessories to become available – set to release today! This will eventually be followed up with Wave 3 that will include even more Emblem Ring Characters.
