What is the Max Power Level in Remnant 2? Answered

A way to analyse your power

In RPGs the main goal has always been to rock the most powerful Build in the game. Now that Remnant offers a unique co-op experience in the Souls-like genre, players want nothing more than ever but to show off their Builds and power versing bosses. With so many caps to be aware of and different functions in the game to keep track of what determines the difficulty of the enemies and the bosses, you will want to know what exactly you can do to max out your Build or make the game more challenging for those Souls veterans. This is Vincent’s guide on everything you need to know about the Power Level cap in Remnant 2.

What is Power Level in Remnant 2?

Power Level is your overall rank in the game. It is determined by a multitude of factors such as Trait Points, Archetype Level and Weapons you are using in the game. These can massively bump up your Power Level but every aspect of Remnant 2 has its own capping system. What this means is that whilst you can effectively reach the top of the game, outlined by Traits, Power and Archetype Levels, you may find that you cannot ever truly max out your Build due to the Trait Point Allotment System (especially for those running multiple Builds at once with the Secondary Archetype system).

Power Level contributes to the overall level in which you will face enemies in the game. It takes into account the level you currently are based on the stats listed above and throws out enemies in the next area you are visiting based on this ranking. Basically, the higher your Power Level is, the more tougher enemies you will face. As your Archetype Level and Traits naturally increase by use, you will want to upgrade and find new, more powerful Weapons to use to not only increase your overall Power Level but also help you face the tougher enemies that are in place due to your other Levels in the game.

How Does Power Level Work in Co-op?

As Remnant 2 offers a three person co-op experience that is randomly generated for level design and boss selection for each area, players may be wondering how exactly Level Scaling works for enemies in this game. Say you pre-purchased or bought Remnant 2 on the day of release but your friend has only just started playing today, you will find yourself Levels above your ally. Whilst the game does not directly stop you from playing, it compensates for the lower levelled player and those who are levels above than you in their Power Level. The scaling works at +3 Levels above the party member hosting the game. Meaning that if you were playing solo at the early portion of the game as Level 2 you would naturally verse enemies that are Level 2 also. But in co-op, a Level 2 playing with a Level 8 will verse Level 5 scaled bosses and enemies.

If you have focussed on grinding a specific Build and properly make use of the co-op function, you will find that you can adapt to the level of difficulty in most scenarios. Playing with higher ranked friends will also result in faster levelling up and XP gain due to defeating tougher enemies than what you would have normally versed in the Remnant 2 universe. Scaling is also determined by your World Level which looks at how many new areas you have discovered. If you are looking to farm for XP, refer to the Level for each area on the mini-map.

What is the Max Level to Reach for Power in Remnant 2?

As explained above, everything in Remnant 2 has a Level Cap. This includes and is not exclusive to your Power Level. But what is the limit? With a Trait Cap of 10 for each Trait, which is determined by your Archetype Level that when maxed out at 10, can be used across all Archetypes you unlock in the game, this leads to a total of 85 available Trait Levels to be placed across your different Archetypes (if you have unlocked every Class in the game).

Taking into account all aspects of the game that affect your Power Level, its cap is Level 20. You may find that your Power Level shifts all of the time, dependant on what you are prioritizing in your Build. Say you have taken a while to grind a weapon, instead of finding something that is more powerful than others, your Weapon Level will likely be lower than both your Archetype and Trait Level. Because of this, you will not only have a harder time to defeat enemies based on the world scaling and difficulty you are playing on but, your Power Level is lower than it could be based purely on the weapon you are using.
