What is Included in Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series?

Return to a world of dreams.

Klonoa was one of those game series that you either loved or you never heard of, no middle ground. The original game came out around that time everyone was trying to get their own 3D platformer mascot, and it went under a lot of radars, but those who played it swear by it to this day. If you’ve been curious about this cult classic mascot, you’ve got an excellent opportunity to get on board with Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series. But what, exactly, is included in Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series?

What is Included in Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series?

Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series serves as both a remaster and a compilation of the first two (or rather, only two) mainline Klonoa games: Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil. To clarify, the version of Door to Phantomile included in Phantasy Reverie Series is not the original PlayStation game that came out in 1997, but rather the remake of that game that was released on the Wii in 2008. Lunatea’s Veil, on the other hand, is the same game that was released on the PS2 in 2001.

Both games are included in full and can be played in the same download. In addition to the base experiences, though, the graphics have been touched up significantly, upgrading to 4K resolution with a clean 60 FPS framerate.

There are also a handful of new accessibility features for both games. If you’re having a little trouble finishing a level, or you’re not having as much trouble as you’d like, the games now feature adjustable difficulty levels. Both games also feature full co-op support, as well as a “stopwatch” mode for those who want to test their speedrunning skills.

Klonoa Phantasy Reverie series will launch first as a timed exclusive for the Nintendo Switch, then come to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam at a currently unspecified later date.
