What Does the Potato Do in Yet Another Zombie Survivors?

What in the world is up with developers adding random items in their games? Yet Another Zombie Survivors is an action game where you need to battle against zombies and build your own team to fight against the epidemic. Yet Another Zombie Survivors is nothing like Disney Dreamlight Valley, however, there is one distinctive item that ties these games together. The developers have added potatoes to their game which has left fans stumped as to what the potato’s purpose is. In this guide, we’re going to talk about the potato and what the potato does in Yet Another Zombie Survivors.

Why is there a Potato in Yet Another Zombie Survivors?

If we remember games such as Disney Dreamlight Valley we remember how important the potato was for this game. It served as an item to start a mission and something you needed in order to gain rewards. At first, players were stumped when they’d randomly find it on the beach. In Yet Another Zombie Survivors, you come across a potato located in a yellow crate. You’ll be able to receive items that give you bonus points that help increase your stats. One of the items you can gain is a potato and it grants you…nothing.

Why is there a potato in Yet Another Zombie Survivors? The potato is actually an easter egg and serves no purpose. It doesn’t give you bonus points and it’s really just a placeholder when the developers were messing around with builds in early development. The developers, Awesome Game Studio kept the potato and added messages once players found the potato, such as “The potato is a lie.”

Is the Potato Still in Yet Another Zombie Survivors?

According to the developers from Awesome Game Studio, the potato was removed due to it being updated. June 24th, 2023 was the last day you could see the potato and it was taken out of the demo and early access version of the game. It’s an easter egg that will be getting updates and mostly serves as just an item you can find and have a great laugh. It will not offer you any benefits or give you any achievements for finding it.
