In Clash of Clans, the warrior known only as P.E.K.K.A. is somewhat of an enigma. While P.E.K.K.A. has been confirmed to be female underneath the massive suit of armor she wears, not much else is known. In fact, even the in-game meta isn’t clear on the origin of this mysterious character. In her character description, it reads: “Is P.E.K.K.A a knight? A samurai? A robot? No one knows! What Does P.E.K.K.A. Mean?

If you were hoping for a clear and concise answer, I regret to inform you there’s nothing of the sort here. In fact, the acronym P.E.K.K.A. doesn’t officially mean anything. Back in 2012, the company responsible for Clash of Clans, Supercell, held a contest on Facebook to determine the acronym’s meaning. In any normal instance, asking the internet for help would’ve been a horrible, horrible idea. But, thankfully, the denizens of the net behaved and the chosen meaning was: “Perfectly Enraged Knight Killer of Assassins.”

Where Does P.E.K.K.A.’s Name Come From?

Interestingly, despite P.E.K.K.A. being confirmed as female, Pekka is a masculine name in Finnish. In fact, it’s the Finnish form for Peter. The feminine form of Pekka would be Petra, according to Behind the Name.

When Was P.E.K.K.A. Added to Clash of Clans?

The P.E.K.K.A. was actually included in the initial release of Clash of Clans on August 2, 2012. It would go on to receive numerous buffs and nerfs over the next decade.
