Thus, we arrive at the topic of today’s coverage: Dice Rooms. They sound kinda fun, don’t they? I mean, when I think of dice, thoughts of fun, games, maybe an RPG campaign, come to mind. But, when it comes to Isaac’s adventures in the recesses of his basement, nothing is as it first appears. Let’s take a look at the Dice Rooms as we seek to tell you everything there is to know about these unique rooms.

What are Dice Rooms in The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth?

It should first be noted that Dice Rooms are tied to Sacrifice Rooms. To elaborate, in order for a Dice Room to spawn, a Sacrifice Room must be spawned, first. If you manage to get a Dice Room to spawn, you’ll need two keys to unlock it. But, as soon as you unlock and enter a Dice Room, you may notice a few things about your run are randomized.

What is randomized depends largely on how many dice dots/pips appear on the room’s center platform. There are six possible results when entering a Dice Room:

  • 1 pip — randomizes Isaac’s items.
  • 2 pips — randomizes room pickups.
  • 3 pips — randomizes floor pickups/trinkets.
  • 4 pips — randomizes item pedestals.
  • 5 pips — restarts current floor entirely.
  • 6 pips — randomizes items, floor pickups/trinkets, and item pedestals.
