Brutal is one word that perfectly describes Kratos and the God of War saga. We have seen some powerful, gruesome and pretty graphic stuff throughout the years (oh yeah, the Helios decapitation stills hunts my dreams). When God of War (2018) came out, the intensity of these moments only were dialed up to 11, thanks to the new angle of the camera allowing us to see the untimely deaths of your foes in close up (also in 4K and 60fps). The fact that your weapon of choice was the Leviathan Axe, also added towards the violence of the kills. God of War Ragnarök will take this and further expand it with what we now call combo finishers. What are combo finishers in God of War Ragnarök? Let’s find out.
What are Combo Finishers in God of War Ragnarök?
Combo finishers are what finishes combos in God of War Rangarök. Roll credits. No, but seriously, they are more than that. Don’t go yet, let me explain. When you encounter an enemy, you will be able to hit him with everything you got. With every hit, you will build up a stun meter that, when full, will allow you to perform a Combo Finisher. Now, this was present in the previous game, where you mauled and pretty much destroyed your enemies with the Leviathan Axe, quite literally. However, know you can use the variety of weapons at your disposal, even taking advantage of ranged attacks to perform them. This brings new animations of brutality to a whole new level of variation and will keep you very much awake in spite of having played the game for 20 hours straight.
So don’t waste the opportunity to finish your enemies in a very Kratos way and deal those deadly and finishing blows with the Combo Finishers. Meanwhile, let me keep adding hours to that Ragnarök marathon of mine. Just one more skill level and I’m finished, I promise.
