When you just start out in Good Pizza, Great Pizza you can easily get the impression that it’s an easy game that you can play with only half of your attention. But no matter how cute the animations look, the game has some strategizing moments that will reflect on your whole gameplay so you need to fully immerse yourself in this experience if you want the best outcomes.
Choosing which elements of your pizza shop to upgrade is one of the most important choices that you’re going to make in this game. The right choice can put you on a profit train while bad choices can make you sit in one spot and advance poorly. Keep reading to discover which upgrades will help you stand out in Good Pizza, Great Pizza.

What Should You Upgrade in Good Pizza, Great Pizza?
As you no doubt noticed, there are dozens of different upgrades in Good Pizza, Great Pizza that get unlocked with time and cost some of the in-game currency (cash or diamonds). Since money doesn’t fall from the sky (not in this video game at least) you’ll need to invest carefully as if you’re running an actual pizza shop.
Players have been debating for quite some time on which items should be upgraded as soon as possible and which ones can wait. After seeing all the impressions and trying a thing or two of our own we’ve discovered what we believe is a perfect pizza owner’s upgrade combo.
Speedy Oven
The absolute first thing you need to unlock is the Speedy Oven. True, it is on the expensive side ($250) but it will bake your pizzas much faster, allowing you to serve more customers and in the end make more money for new upgrades!
Happy Folks
I know, I know. Another $250 upgrade. But trust me, the Happy Folks upgrade should come right after the Speedy Oven as it will give you extra tips thus increasing your income (just make sure you are making perfect pizzas and fast!).
Daylight Savings
You can now proceed to purchase Daylight Savings. After having two upgrades that increase your income, you’ll now gather the necessary $250 much easier. This upgrade gives you one extra hour in the game when you can serve customers and when you take into consideration that you already have a fast oven and extra tips this means only one thing – Cha-Ching!
Buddies/Cutter
There are plenty of buddies you can hire to automate certain actions for you in the game. What we recommend you focus on first is the Sauce Buddy, Cheese Buddy, or Cutter. Sauce and Cheese are part of most pizza recipes as you can find out from our Good Pizza, Great Pizza recipe article, so getting either one of them will help you save time. The same goes for Cutter as he will automatically cut pizzas for your customers without needing you. And don’t worry, when the customer says that they want their pizza uncut the Cutter will skip doing his job!
Garden Upgrades in Good Pizza, Great Pizza
Garden upgrades are a separate part of Good Pizza, Great Pizza and shouldn’t be omitted in the process of running the pizza shop. To unlock this you need to be in Chapter 4, harvest 300 plants and serve 300 pizzas with Garden ingredients.
When Garden upgrades are unlocked, you can buy refined seeds for some ingredients for your pizzas. It will cost you $500 per ingredient and will cause yields from the plant to increase from 50 to 60 while at the same time reducing the growing time by 10%.
The ingredients that you can upgrade with refined seeds are:
- Eggplant
- Tomato
- Jalapeno
- Basil
- Onion
- Garlic
- Bell Pepper
- Olive
