Scott the Woz

Starting off our list is a content creator who focuses mostly on Nintendo history but adds a ton of comedy with over-the-top sketches and jokes; Scott the Woz. His videos always have optimism to them even when talking about terrible gaming trends. This is a great watch when you want something that tosses surprises at ya.

The Black Hokage

If you’re looking for a well-rounded Youtuber who does let’s plays but also has fresh takes on action games, then TBH is a great person to check out. He’s likable and extremely vocal about what he enjoys or doesn’t about games. He’s the real deal. He was also a part of the ill-fated G4 reboot but was a true highlight as a member of the new core team that was put together for it.

Wolff Den

A great creator who focuses on Nintendo Switch content, as well as emulation, is Wolff Den. His schtick though is that he’s more on the hardware side. Whether modding a custom fight stick for Smash Bros., putting Morbius on a Game Boy Color cartridge, or testing out the latest and greatest handhelds for emulation, he’s always got something new worth checking out.

Izzzyzzz

Izzzyzzz is a favorite on this list because of the sheer amount of detail that they put into their content. They typically focus on web-based games such as Neopets, Webkinz, and Club Penguin. But they go deeper into things by giving viewers an entire rundown on the lore or other behind-the-scenes context on games that most people would have no idea even existed without doing their own deep dive.

Gvmers

If you’re looking for high-quality gaming documentaries, then look no further than Gvmers. This channel has content rolling out constantly for just about every major gaming franchise of the last 20 years. The channel continues to impress with its production quality and the smooth voice that narrates every video.

Metal Jesus Rocks

A true old-school Youtuber, Metal Jesus Rocks feels like a throwback to a bygone era of the platform but in the best ways possible. Metal Jesus’ channel focuses on retro gaming mostly, but also on his discovery of new games that still capture the magic of the retro kind. His videos have a cozy welcoming feel and his knowledge of the industry is so fun to learn as you watch.

The Sphere Hunter

If you’re a survival horror fan, then The Spere Hunter needs to be a channel you check out. She does a lot of content on things of the Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and Dead Space variety. Her takes are extremely relatable and her production quality is also extremely good. She’s also seemingly played just about every older survival horror game several times, so it’s also wonderful to listen to her gush about all of the iconic moments within them.

Caddicarus

Looking for some comedy but with a more in-your-face kind of take? Caddicarus is a fantastic channel if you want nothing but endless comedy with retro games at the center. And these aren’t always your typical, fondly remembered retro games either. There really are a ton of bad PS1 games, and he’s played just about every single one of them.

Switch and Click

Are you a PC gamer that really loves them some mechanical keyboards? Well, Switch and Click is a great choice for you because Betty and Jake from the channel know how to make some incredibly satisfying videos about them. There is no shortage of buttery-smooth clicks, and it’s really interesting to see their work with some unique keyboards from all over.

Stop Skeletons from Fighting

SSFF is a great channel for folks who want to know about some of the more obscure or ridiculous moments in gaming. Such as the tons of gimmicky controllers that the industry has seen over the years or the failed Crash Bandicoot karting game for mobile devices. This channel has a ton of content to keep you busy.

Well, that’s our list of the top 10 best gaming Youtube channels! If you haven’t already stumbled upon some of these lovely folks, maybe you’ll come out of this with something new to enjoy!
