How to Throw a Touch Pass in Madden 22

When you’re quarterbacking in Madden 22, you need to know how to outsmart your opponent and how to fit the ball into tight spaces when the defense is hot on your tail. It can be especially difficult with how modern defenses in the NFL are flying around and constantly evolving schematically.

Luckily, there are numerous different types of passes in Madden 22 that are all advantageous depending on the circumstance, not the least of which includes the touch pass. Part of the issue with touch passes is that they’re one of the more difficult passes to pull off in Madden 22 since it demands fairly precise timing.

It’s also much different from other passes and will likely require reasonable practice. Here is everything you need to know about the touch pass in Madden 22 and how to pull it off effectively.

How to Throw a Touch Pass in Madden 22

If you’re trying to get off a quick pass directly to your receiver, you can use a bullet pass, and if you need to throw a high-arching long ball deep down the field, you can use a lob pass. However, you can do a touch pass if you need to get off a pass somewhere in-between on a medium-length route.

Touch passes are essentially a hybrid of the bullet and the lob pass. They are meant to drop the ball over the head of an underneath defender or in front of deeper coverage.

To perform a touch pass in Madden 22, you will need to find an open receiver and press and release the corresponding button above the target.

A tricky part of this pass is that you will throw a bullet pass if you hold the button too long. If you tap the button, you’ll initiate a lob pass. Because it’s a happy medium between the two, you need to activate it as such by holding the button above the receiver for just the right amount of time.

As mentioned, this will take some practice. Not just in terms of the controls but also in knowing certain situational advantages. However, once you get all three passes down, nobody will be able to stop you.
