We have Necromancing for some time. Nowadays, it is popular for games to publish some soart of Roadmap in order to keep the fans engaged with the game. Some may say it is a cop out for delivering an incomplete experience. Some others will complain about the lacking of promises kept. Most of the time, that is the case. Whether you like it or not, that’s how things are now, almost no game is innocent of this sin. But perhaps I’m a little too old. Anyway, The Unliving is not an exception to this rule. So here is what to expect for The Unliving.
What to Expect for The Unliving
We have a year’s worth of updates that we can expect for The Unliving. Whether you like it or not, there’s a lot of content that couldn’t make it to the game’s launch. It appears, however, that the developers will commit to deliver what they are promising in this roadmap published by them. While I write this article (November 2022), there appears to be a continuous communication between the developers and the community, so we can say that things are looking good, at least for now. Here is what to expect for The Unliving for the following year.
- Late 2022 – Early 2023: single use items called Talismans will be implemented. Dark Rituals will be implemented as well for all your runs, new locations and the ability to upgrade the undead and the necromancer himself.
- First Half of 2023: a difficulty system will be implemented, altering the enemies and upgrading the rewards. A new NPC will be added alongside more story lore and new features in the shop.
- Until the end of 2023: a fourth location will be added as well as more unlockables and upgrades (alongside more storyline and a brand new character).
Conclusions
While reading these updates that will happen during 2023, and having played the game already, I truly believe that the game will benefit a lot by their inclusion. What stands out to me, other than new locations and characters, is the ability to upgrade your undead army as well as the Necromancer himself, which I find it’s really necessary since sometimes the upgrades can be difficult to notice per se. Anyway, let’s hope they do continue to support the game post-launch and not abandon it in the wilderness. Time will tell, in the meantime, continue to engage with the community and become a Necromancy King.
