The Division 2 player count – How many is playing in 2023?

Is The Division 2 worth playing still?

If you’re a gamer who’s been playing a lot of massive online RPG titles over the last decade, then you’re most likely aware that Ubisoft has done a bit of work with Tom Clancy’s The Division IP. The original was fun, but the sequel, The Division 2, broke ground as being much bigger initially, as well as having huge expansions to follow.

And though The Division 2 was released in 2019, just in the summer of 2022, players were given newer content to keep the enjoyment rolling. But, that was a few months ago, and we’re in 2023 now. So, how many people are playing The Division 2 in 2023, and is it something you should be interested in playing? Let’s discuss this.

The Division 2 player count – How many is playing in 2023?

Going off of many sites that track player count statistics on games, it appears that The Division 2 does still have a pretty sizeable active player base. According to MMO Stats, the player base for The Division 2 is actually on the rise since November of 2022, with numbers currently reaching above 140 thousand players a day, in total.

Sites like Player Count have a live count of players logged into games, and at the time of writing this, there are almost 900 players online right now. Though those aren’t historic numbers for this title, the fact that it’s so old and still something players are playing is something worth talking about. But it’s worth pointing out that those numbers may begin to dwindle down.

The reason why The Division 2’s chapter may be coming to a close is that Ubisoft has two new The Division titles in the works to release soon. Mobile players have The Division: Resurgence to look forward to, as where the console and PC players have a third major installment, The Division: Heartland headed to platforms as well.

So when thinking about whether or not The Division 2 is right for you to jump into, based on its player base of others to play with, it seems that there isn’t too much of a worry at this point that there are not enough people online. The Division 2 was only released on Steam on January 12th, 2023, so there’s room to think that Ubisoft may continue to implement new things into it until those newer games finally release and continue to bring players back into the fray.

So, now you know whether or not it’s the right time for you to play The Division 2, and if people are still playing 2023.
