Splatoon 3 Sub Weapon List

Your shooter can't do all the work.

While your Main Weapons will be your primary sources of both ink coverage and warfare in Splatoon 3, guns and oversized paint rollers don’t win wars by themselves. Sometimes, you gotta get tricky, deploy fast, weird attacks to really mess with your foes. This is where Sub Weapons come in. Here’s the Splatoon 3 Sub Weapon list.

Splatoon 3 Sub Weapon List

Every single Main Weapon in Splatoon 3 is a package deal, coming with attached Sub and Special Weapons. Sub Weapons in particular can be utilized with the R button, provided you have enough ink in your tank. Check the little red line in your tank meter if you’re not sure.

Rather than regular ink coverage, Sub Weapons are meant to disorient or finish off foes as you attack with your Main Weapon. Some also provide support abilities like shields and trackers. The full list of Splatoon 3 Sub Weapons includes:

  • Splat Bomb
  • Suction Bomb
  • Burst Bomb
  • Curling Bomb
  • Autobomb
  • Ink Mine
  • Toxic Mist
  • Point Sensor
  • Splash Wall
  • Sprinkler
  • Squid Beakon
  • Fizzy Bomb
  • Torpedo
  • Angle Shooter

Splat Bomb

The baseline, tried and true Sub Weapon since the very first Splatoon. These basic grenades fly out in front of you in a basic arc, and explode in a mid-sized ink burst after a moment. Try throwing one around a corner!

Suction Bomb

Shot trajectories getting you down? Just set it and forget it with a Suction Bomb. Flies in a similar arc to a Splat Bomb and deals about the same damage, but sticks in place wherever it lands. It can stick to walls, floors, and ceilings!

Burst Bomb

Too testy for bomb fuses? Burst Bombs are your one and done solution. Just throw it, and it’ll immediately burst upon impact with a player or surface. Not as strong as a Splat Bomb, but flies out much faster.

Curling Bomb

Out of all the Olympic sports you could weaponize, curling is low on my list, but here we are. These bombs glide across the ground in a straight line, detonating either on impact with a player or after a few seconds. You can bounce them off of walls, too.

Autobomb

Need to corral a rascally foe? Get an Autobomb hot on their tail! These little doodads send out a pulse after you throw them. If they ping any enemies, they’ll start running toward them, exploding upon impact or after a few seconds. Good for chasing foes into traps or away from your turf.

Ink Mine

Speaking of traps, let’s make the turf a little more dangerous. These discrete explosives hide in ink, detonating when an enemy gets close. They’re not that strong, but they mark opponents for your allies to track.

Toxic Mist

Time for some chemical warfare. These vials burst open on the ground when thrown, releasing a dome of smoky mist. Any enemy standing in the mist will suffer from reduced speed and ink drain for a little while, as well as slightly obscured vision.

Point Sensor

Take the guesswork out of scouting operations! This high-tech weapon bursts into a large cloud upon impact on the ground. It doesn’t deal damage, but any enemies standing in the cloud are marked for your allies for about 2.5 seconds.

Splash Wall

Set up defenses in a sticky situation. These gizmos deploy directly in front of you and begin spraying ink in a small barrier. Enemies can’t move through the wall, nor can they shoot through it until it’s destroyed. Good for buying you a few seconds when things get dicey.

Sprinkler

Can’t be bothered to hang around, inking turf? Have a Sprinkler do it for you! When deployed, the Sprinkler begins spraying blobs of ink in a circular pattern around itself. You can stick one to just about any flat surface.

Squid Beakon

Diversify your travel brochure a bit. Squid Beakons are placed next to you on the ground, providing a spot that any ally can Superjump to as long as it’s standing. Set one up deep in enemy territory for a sneak attack!

Fizzy Bomb

And they say you’re not supposed to cook grenades. Fizzy Bombs can be held in your hand and shaken up to three times. When you throw it, it’ll repeatedly explode in a burst of ink for however many times you shook it.

Torpedo

Time for a little Red October action. The Torpedo is thrown out in an arc like a Splat Bomb, but when it detects an opponent nearby, it transforms into a straight-flying projectile and homes in on them. It deals a lot of damage, though it can’t be used to splat an opponent. Crafty fighters can also shoot them out of the air.

Angle Shooter

Finally, something new. This newcomer for Splatoon 3 flies through the air in a straight line, bouncing off any surface it comes in contact with and leaving a tracer line behind. If it hits an enemy, they’ll be marked in your vision. Throw it around corners to see what’s hiding!

Remember, Sub Weapons are bundled with Main Weapons. You can’t change a Sub Weapon on a Main Weapon, but you can buy a variation of a Main Weapon with a different Sub Weapon equipped. Try lots of variations and see what works for you.
