Sons of Forest Cannibals Now Jump from Trees In Case You Weren’t Scared Enough

Be careful what you wish for.

Sons of the Forest is the much anticipated yet controversial successor to The Forest. It’s had its highs – Kelvin – and it’s lows – inventory management. But the community had called out a seriously missed opportunity, for cannibals climbing trees to actually jump out at players. If you were a player who wished this, then your dream has come true.

Cannibals Can Now Ambush Players from Trees

You’d better keep one eye to the sky, as in a recent patch Sons of the Forest has become even scarier. Some cannibals had always hid in bushes, only to leap out and ambush you. That was terrifying enough, but now they can jump from the trees to strike you down.

Cannibals always had the ability to climb trees, but players were left perplexed at why the devs would add such a feature. Now all of your questions have been answered. Not only does this add another dimension when traveling in an area with trees, but it also means that climbing cannibals remain a threat. Make sure to keep your weapon equipped and to keep scanning the tree tops to save yourself from a scary surprise.

This small feature really adds a lot to the game. It brings another dimension to the horror element, and will actively work against your efforts to uphold the survival element. With such a possibility, deforestation might not be such a bad policy.
