Should you sell your Gems in Disney Dreamlight Valley? That’s a tough rock to crack! The answer is, drum roll … No! We’ll explain. First and foremost, What are Gems, and how do you get them? Gems are rare minerals you can mine from various Rocks in the Valley. You can mine two types of Gems in the Valley: Common Gems and Shiny Gems. Common Gems are less valuable and can sell for a measly 160 Star Coins (Garnet), whereas Shiny Gems can sell for over 2,000 Star Coins.
How to use your Gems
While you can sell Gems for hefty prices, the most expensive Gem, a Shiny Diamond, can be sold for 2,400 Star Coins. But, you will need Gems for crafting furniture items, completing quests, and giving your Villagers their favorite gifts. So it’s best to keep them!

As we previously mentioned, Gems are rare; and with some grinding, you most certainly will find a few (especially with the help of a Village Companion); selling your Gems is, quite honestly, not worth it. You make much more money from harvesting your millions of pumpkins, but Gems are best left for a rainy day when you need them most.
