Should You Give Chimurenga the Diamond or Keep It? – Jagged Alliance 3

When value is placed in material over a man's life

In Jagged Alliance 3 you will find yourself and your squad often in spots that are a little too claustrophobic for our liking. Unlike previous Jagged Alliance games where the emphasis and importance was stressed on Intelligence for training and Marksmanship for hitting those critical shots and never missing the target, in Jagged Alliance 3 the importance shifts into Agility. Because of this, players are often thrown into tight, close-quarters combative moments when face-to-face with a threat. But when deciding whether or not to offer the Diamond to Biff, a missing Merc that has a ton of useful information on Grand Chien. This is Vincent’s guide on whether you should keep the Diamond or hand it over to Chimurenga in Jagged Alliance 3.

But you are not the only people after Biff. The Major sends a Legion squad to deal with Biff and in doing so, players will engage in combat at Sector A8. This battle is incredibly tough to beat and is not recommended for those who are early into the game. We recommend a team with strengths in Marksmanship and Agility, preferably 4-5 Mercs.

Hand Over the Diamond to Chimurenga or Engage in Another Fight, the Choice is Yours

Upon defeating Major’s squad you will have two options: either hand over Biff’s Diamond to Chimurenga or keep the Diamond for yourself. By choosing to hand it over to Chimurenga you will receive 50 Pantagruel loyalty. However, to be able to hand the goods over you are required to have high Wisdom otherwise (much like a Paragon or Renegade choice in Mass Effect) the option will be closed off to you. If this choice does not interest you, the other option is to keep the Diamond which will initiate another fight in which you will need to defeat Chimurenga and his squad whilst protecting your Mercs and Biff.

The Ultimate Dilemma: Are You Indiana Jones or Robin Hood?

The final choice may be a tough one to make and that is to either kill Biff or show mercy. By killing Biff you will gain the Diamond for yourself which can be sold on for $50,000 or given to Emma via the Museum for x3 militia that can be deployed on their own missions. Alternatively, letting Biff go will mean that he keeps the Diamond for himself will offer intel.

When choosing which option is best it is primarily down to your own playthrough and what you wish to prioritize over others. If you regularly find that your budget is too low to extend your chosen Mercs, choosing to kill Chimurenga and Biff for the Diamond would be the best option for you. However, if you want to keep recurring Mercs of the Jagged Alliance series alive then it is only appropriate that you spar Biff and let him keep the Diamond in return for valuable intel.

Regardless on your choice, it is best to hold off on giving the Diamond to Chimurenga but in doing so, be prepared for another difficult battle to get to the next and final choice on the Diamond’s fate for which hands it eventually end up in.
