Rune Factory 5 Furniture Placement Guide

When the difficulty spike is the furniture placement system

Like any good farming/life sim, there is a lot of customisable options to unlock and explore in the latest instalment of the Rune Factory series. Although with this feature, it is not the smoothest element of Rune Factory 5. Actually, it may very well be its most headache inducing element. Here’s how to best tackle it.

Rune Factory 5 Furniture Placement Guide

Unfortunately, Rune Factory 5’s furniture placement system leaves much to be desired. That is due to the potential and persistency of numerous gaps and uneven furniture placing being a regular occurrence for indoor furniture placements. Players could instead resort to keeping the majority of their furniture pieces outside, especially since within the confines of their room, no furniture piece will or can touch the walls.

This makes for a jarring and distracting appearance of any humble abode found within the game. Since players are unable to effectively line everything up, they will have to be patient when organising their home space. Ensure to select the ‘pick it up’ option of any furniture piece you wish to position elsewhere. For what it is worth, players are also able to strafe (using ‘R’ on the Switch) and rotate the piece that is in their hand with the ZR button to better hone in on the placements that they want.

Furthermore, this blight of Rune Factory 5 has seen some tricky revealed by fans before if players want to perfect their layout. The trick is to destroy a furniture piece, place another piece you wish to line alongside it with and leave the house. By re-entering, the destroyed piece will reappear and should either be touching or just in line with the furniture right besides it. If not, you can rinse and repeat this tactic until all your furniture pieces are in line with one another.
