How Mechs Work in Build a Boat for Treasure
There are many ways of building a mech in Build a Boat for Treasure, as there are many mechanical tools that allow you to experiment. The main difference between a mech and a boat is that a boat is powered by a motor, and a mech moves through walking. Legs aren’t exactly supplied explicitly in the game, so you’ll need to be creative in how you build moving appendages that will carry you around.
There are two main ways to create the moving legs of a mech, so you will either need servos, or wheels and hinges. When you start to understand these mechanics, you can freestyle and start assembling mechs of your own design.

Building your First Mech in Build a Boat for Treasure
The easiest way to build a mech in Build a Boat for Treasure is by using wheels and hinges. Wheels can be bought from the store at 750 gold each, and hinges can be bought from the store for 50 gold each. Both items can alternatively be found in crates, in the rarer side of the options. You can also buy wheels using Robux, or as part of the legacy car set.
Decide how many legs you want. You can have a bipedal mech that walks with two feet, or more of a crawler mech that walks with four. For each leg you plan to have, you will need one wheel and one hinge.
To begin with, make a core main body with a seat in it. You will need to build this off the floor, so pole up by around 6 blocks and then build your core. Delete the pole blocks after you are done. This will create your floating body. All you need now are the walking legs.
Use a block on each side where you want the legs to go, and then place a wheel there. On the legs of one side, place a hinge on the highest point of the side of the wheel. Along the legs of the other side, place the hinges at the lowest point of the side of the wheel.
From the wheel with the hinge at the lowest point, build a block from the hinge all the way down to the floor. That is one leg. It would be recommended to buff out the leg and add feet. Make sure to count how many blocks it takes to get to the floor. Make the same leg for the other side from that hinge, only placing as many blocks down as the other leg.
Then, when you sit in your chair and launch, the wheels will propel the legs forwards, giving you a walking mech!
