Ragnarok Origin Verus Core Guide

Get those gears running!

Verus Core is one of the essential gear items in Ragnarok Origin that will be valuable to you in the late game. If I needed to compare it to features in other games I would say that it closely resembles the talents system of many MOBAs or RPGs where you get permanent bonuses for your already existing skills and spells.

However, many new Ragnarok players are still unfamiliar with the whole deal of Verus Cores so we decided to create a compelling guide that will provide you with all the information you need to know before you encounter these complex gears.

What is Verus Core in Ragnarok Origin?

Verus Core is a gear piece that will be a part of your overall set. You will get it at base level 55, and unlock further slots on level 60. Inside the Verus Core, there are three empty slots meant for cogwheels that add various bonuses to your character. For example, they can boost the speed at which your Meteor strikes land or increase the length of some of your disable spells. There are three types of cogwheels you can insert in your Verus core:

  1. Archdam Cogwheel (Blue)
  2. Vesper Cogwheel (Pink)
  3. Dimik Cogwheel (Golden)

Verus Core has a weight limit of 15 and it’s important for you to know that each one of those cogwheel groups have their own weight. Most Dimik cogwheels have a weight of 6, Vesper ones have a weight of 5 and the Archdam cogwheels have a weight of 4. This soft balance allows you to have one of each as their total sum is 15.

Still, you can encounter cogwheels of all three types that will have one less weight when compared to their group (Dimik with 5 instead of 6, Vesper with 4 instead of 5, and Archdam with 3 instead of 4). This gets you a chance to put 2x Dimik and 1x Archdam cogwheels in your Verus Core if you want and unlock Core lighting.

Where Can You Find Cogwheels in Ragnarok Origin?

Cogwheels can be found all throughout Ragnarok Origin adventure and here are some of the places we know you can get them or at least have a chance of obtaining them.

  • MVP Team Rewards
  • Extreme Challenges
  • Mysterious Shop
  • Nyan Berry Shop
  • Endless Tower
  • Bingo Event
  • Free rewards for login or leveling up

What Cogwheels Do I Need?

You’ll notice that most of the cogwheels that you get will be single-skill ones (meaning that they give a boost to one skill only) while you’d be better off with dual-skill cogwheels. To obtain these you need to go to Cogwheel synthesis and simply put the two single-skill cogwheels you wish to combine into it and hope for a successful combo. I say “hope for” since not every combination will result in a successful dual-skill cogwheel. However, the game guarantees that 1 in 10 will be a dual-skill one so eventually you will get it.

If you get a cogwheel that boosts the skills that you don’t need and you wish to reset it, you can do that with Titanium III. Titanium III is acquired through the Anomalous Metal Shop where you can buy it for 5 Anomalus Steel, which in turn is gained by dismantling unnecessary cogwheels. You see, it’s all one happy (cog)wheel of life!

Extra Tips that You Should Know About the Verus Core

You should know that all cogwheels wear off with time. You can extend their lifespan with Maintenance settings but you will eventually need to replace some of them. Just make sure you keep checking them since the ones that wear off will automatically be removed from your Verus Core and you’ll stop receiving its bonuses.

Additionally, cogwheels with the same skill bonuses don’t stack. So if you have two or even three cogwheels of the same skill, make sure your change them since they aren’t adding to your character in this way.
