Where to Get Unown in Pokemon Legends Arceus

Learn where to get all 28 variations of Unown, including where to find Shiny and Alpha Unown in Pokemon Legends Arceus.

The Unown, originally introduced in the second generation of Pokemon, are believed to be the progenitors of modern language, as their various shapes resemble the characters that make up our alphabet. It makes sense, then, that chronicling all of them would be a major milestone for the first PokeDex of the Hisui region in Pokemon Legends Arceus. In this guide, we’ll show you where to get Unown in Pokemon Legends Arceus.

Unown exists in 28 distinct shapes, one for all 26 letters of the alphabet as well as the exclamation point and question mark. During the main story of Pokemon Legends Arceus, shortly after you successfully enlist the aid of Ursaluna, Professor Laventon will find an Unown stuck to your back. This will prompt him to create a special page in the PokeDex for Unown research, which will fill with Unown writing. This writing, translated from Unown writing into plain English, reveals hints as to where the 28 Unown can be found around Hisui. The Unown are hiding in various places, usually stuck to surfaces. You’re not allowed to battle them, but if you just chuck a regular Poke Ball at one, it should be caught fairly easily.

Where to Get Unown in Pokemon Legends Arceus

Once you’ve successfully caught all 28 variations of Unown, visit the Solaceon Ruins in the Crimson Mirelands, the place where the Miss Fortunes stole the tablet fragment before. Unown will begin spawning en masse in and around the ruins. Not only does this give you a chance to catch more of the things if you so like, as well as battle with them for the purpose of full PokeDex entry completion, but they’ll also start spawning as shinies and Alphas, neither of which could appear in the wild previously.

Remember, a shiny Unown has a dark blue coloration, as opposed to the regular Unown’s jet-black. As for the Alphas, they’ll typically spawn at around level 40, but by the time you’ve caught all 28 of the regular ones, that shouldn’t be much of a problem for your Pokemon. Oh, and if you were wondering, yes, it is possible for a shiny Alpha Unown to spawn, so if you’re craving a new collection challenge, you can try to catch all 28 again as shiny Alphas.
