Tangela’s located along the riverbank west of Scarlet Bog in the Crimson Mirelands region. The Crimson Mirelands is the second region you will visit after the Obsidian Fieldlands. Tangela’s location is closer to the center of Crimson Mirelands, southeast of Golden Lowlands. You can also catch Alpha Tangrowth, Tangelas evolved state, very close by. When attempting to catch Tangela or any other Pokemon, it’s essential to gain the element of surprise. Your catch chance will be higher if you sneak up on the Pokemon and hit them in the back with the Pokeball. To crouch, press the “B” button, then try to get into some tall grass for extra cover. Use fruits to distract the Pokemon while you maneuver around. If you mess up and scare Tangela, he might either fight you or run away. It’s always easier to try and be sneaky.
